Sammy's pet parlour Policies

                         CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH DOGS ARE ACCEPTED FOR GROOMING

  Owners will be asked to sign a copy of the Sammy's pet parlour contract, agreeing to our             policy conditions at the first visit to Sammy's pet parlour. Whilst every care and attention is given to your pet(s) they are accepted at the owner's risk. Our first concern is for the welfare of your pet so in the event of injury or illness a Vet may be called in and unless it can be clearly shown that we are liable, all costs in connection with and in the carrying out of this instruction shall be at the owners expense. Pet Insurance is highly recommended.

  • The dog must be fit and healthy. If you wish an elderly or sick dog to be groomed/bathed, that is fine, as long as the owner understands that the Sammy's pet parlour salon can not be held responsible and it is entirely at the owners risk. Grooming may expose underlying skin or health problems that the salon cannot be held liable for.
  • The dogs must have up to date vaccinations. Recorded proof of these maybe asked for. An unvaccinated dog puts itself and other dogs at risk.
  • The owners of dogs that are found to have an infestation of parasites, will be contacted and asked to collect their pet immediately, and will only be groomed once the problem has been managed. This procedure is in place to protect all of my clients, as this may cause other dogs to become infected.
  • Payment must be made on collection of dog. Price estimates are based on an average dog of the breed or type but owners must remember that some dogs will require extensive extra work and that this will be charged for on an hourly basis. Owners will be asked to leave a contact telephone number, so they can be contacted when their dog is ready for collection. At the moment we can only accept cash payments.
  • The shaving of dogs will dramatically change their appearance; hair will be very short. This may expose pre-existing skin complaints. Your permission will be required to shave off a matted coat.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE A DOG THAT PRESENTS A RISK OF INJURY TO ITSELF OR STAFF.

Under no circumstances do we accept sedated dogs

These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We require 24 hours notice cancellation of appointments. TIME IS RESERVED TO GROOM YOUR DOG. Missed appointments will incur a cancellation fee payable before further appointments can be booked. Dogs arriving late may have to be re-booked and the cancellation fee will apply.

HYGIENE

At Sammys pet parlour  dealing with hygiene is paramount. All surfaces and tools are cleaned and sterilized after every treatment to protect dogs and staff from illness and disease.

PRE-VISIT WALKS

We find that dogs owners who have allowed their pets to be walked and go to the toilet before a salon visit, tend to be far happier and relaxed whilst in our care.
